This Pipe hawk has German Silver inlays in the pipe, on the eye and on the blade.
The silver tobacco tin is from Dixie Gun Works
The sunburst in the blade is both pierced and inlaid with brass.
I used to sell hawks on ebay a long time ago, this is one of those.
I used to call this style the "Frontiersman". The spike has a piece of tool steel forge welded in the center.
The classic Missouri War Hatchet. This one includes tackwork and a hickory handle that has been fire-hardened.
Note the punchwork, engraving and piercings.
Damascus blade (1095 & 15N20) in a ladder pattern. Handle is Curly Maple with copper tacks. Note the copper wedges at the top of the head.
Axe with scabbard. Note the owners initials branded into the scabbard. I made the brand and sent it with the tomahawk.
Here is what I call a truncated hammer poll. Basically a hammer poll that got messed up and someone wanted me to finish it out.
I used to make little neck hawks like this - fully functional pipe and blade with a historically accurate scabbard. Small enough to wear around your neck on a braided strap of linen.
This is a copy of the Spontoon style tomahawk made by the Lewis and Clark blacksmiths while at Fort Mandan.
Another Missouri War Hatchet without piercings
Note how the head is wedged into place
Hawk Dad and I made way back in the day and sold on Ebay. Brilliant curly maple...
This hawk has a pewter and bone mouthpiece - I have not done may like this one.
Aonther older ebay hawk. Probably made in 1999.
Another oldie - one of the first hawks I made where the handle had a diamond cross section.
I made this piece to order including the ruinic inlay fire brazed in silver.
